  • More than 70% of the surface of the Earth is covered by water, and this water is constantly being recycled by what is known as "The Water Cycle". There are four main parts of the Water Cycle - evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and collection.

​

  • The Earth is surrounded by a blanket of air called "the atmosphere". Scientists have divided the atmosphere into five layers - the troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere thermosphere. and exosphere. Nearly all of the atmosphere is made up of two gases - nitrogen (78%) and oxygen (21%).

​

  • The Earth moves in two ways. It takes 24 hours to spin on its axis - which gives us night and day - and it takes one year to orbit the Sun - which gives us our seasons.
